A beautiful piece of vintage Ewe Kente, estimated to date from the 1950s–1960s, woven in Ghana by Ewe weavers.
This distinctive textile is composed of individually handwoven strips carefully joined together to create an intricate patchwork of geometric forms, fine stripes and contrasting woven motifs. Its palette of muted reds, burgundy, mustard, olive green, cream, rust and deep charcoal reflects the softened character of an older textile, with subtle variations in colour and texture that come naturally with age.
Measurements: 72 inches by 53.5 inches
The cloth retains in good condition making it particularly appealing as a collectible textile, the finely detailed weaving and complex arrangement demonstrate the skill and patience involved in its creation.
Ideal for collectors of African textiles, interior designers, textile enthusiasts and those looking for an authentic historic Ghanaian textile. It can be displayed as wall art, used as a statement interior textile, or incorporated thoughtfully into a contemporary space.
Please Note
Due to the vintage and handcrafted nature of this textile, signs of age, fading, and minor imperfections are part of its authenticity and charm. However this specific piece is in very good condition.
