A rare and beautifully woven vintage Ewe Kente cloth from the 1950s, originating from the Hohoe area of Ghana, home to the renowned weaving community of Kpalimé, celebrated for producing some of the most elaborate and symbolic motifs found in Ewe Kente traditions.

Handwoven on a traditional loom, each strip was individually crafted before being carefully joined together to create the complete cloth. The deep indigo ground is contrasted with intricate floating motifs in warm tones of gold, ochre, coral, cream and soft magenta, creating a striking visual rhythm across the textile.

Kpalimé weaving is particularly admired for its sophisticated motif work, and this cloth beautifully reflects that legacy through its refined composition and detailed symbolic patterning. The subtle texture, slight irregularities and signs of age all contribute to the authenticity and character of this one-of-a-kind vintage piece.

An exceptional textile suitable for collectors, interior styling, wall display or wearable heritage art.
